Select or change your provider

When you enroll in any of our three plans, we encourage you to select a PCP to manage your primary care.

Select or Change PCP Online

To select or change your PCP:

  • Log in to My Account.
  • If you have not registered, click Register Now to register and select your User ID and Password.
  • Click Select/Change PCP.
  • Search the directory for your new PCP. Your search will only show providers who are accepting new patients.
  • Click the Select button beside the provider's listing and complete the PCP Change Request form.

Select or Change PCP by Phone

The process for selecting or changing a PCP by phone or mail is simple.

Important Notes

In addition to notifying your plan of your change in PCP, please also consider the following:

  • Please call the provider's office you wish to visit to confirm he or she still participates with CareFirst.
  • If you need to visit a provider and you have misplaced or lost your member ID Card, you can log in to My Account .
    • There, you can print and/or order a new card.
    • Select View/Order ID Cards from the My Coverage menu to request new cards.
    • You will receive an additional set of cards in the mail.
