Orientation

We know how important Day One is to your experience joining CareFirst, and we’re committed to making a great first impression. With Human Resources at the helm, experts across the organization will come together and ensure you:

  • Feel welcomed, included and connected
  • Have the tools, technology and access to communicate and work effectively
  • Understand what it means to be a CareFirst employee and share a Difference Maker mindset
  • Feel prepared for the days ahead, including completing important HR tasks (e.g., benefits enrollment), building a relationship with your people leader, and driving the continuous learning that will propel your success

Day One Schedule*

The week prior to your start date, you’ll receive an email from newhire@carefirst.com with instructions to join our virtual orientation. If available, have a personal computer, tablet or smartphone ready to join the call.

*Example schedule only—actual start and run times may vary by start date and function and will be communicated by your Talent Acquisition Specialist prior to your start date.

Technology

You should expect to receive your CareFirst-issued computer the weekend before your start date. While you will not be able to login until your start date, we encourage you to set up your workstation (connect monitor, keyboard, mouse to laptop) using the instructions provided, if you are able. Otherwise, IT representatives will assist during your orientation.
